The conservancy behind Knoxville’s largest public park needed events, trail maps and giving in one place. All three ended up behind an editor volunteers can use without training.
Lakeshore runs on a small staff and a large volunteer roster, so the content model had to be forgiving. Every field that can be optional is, and a page still looks finished when one is left empty.
Events were the hard part. They arrive in bursts, they get cancelled for weather, and they have to leave the site the moment they are over rather than the next time someone remembers.
Nobody on our team has to ask for help to publish something anymore.
