Notes from rebuilding my own site — The fourth rebuild in six years, and the first one where the goal was simply to finish.

The old site was one page trying to be a résumé, a portfolio and a personality. It managed none of the three, mostly because nothing could be added to it without opening an editor.

This version starts from the opposite constraint: everything on it can change without touching code. That rules out a few tricks I liked and forces every idea through a content model first, which turns out to be a decent filter.

What survived: large photographs, very little copy, and a bottom navigation that stays put. What did not: three fonts I loved and a landing animation nobody but me ever watched.
